Disclaimer
Disclaimer: I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in this Commonwealth. I am not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities.
This website gives general information and is not a substitute for legal advice. If you’re not sure what document you need notarized or the certificate type, please ask your attorney or the agency/organization that requested the notarization.
Policies
Agreement
By booking, you agree to the terms and conditions at notarizewithadam.com/privacy-and-disclaimer, including the deposit, cancellation, and payment policies.
Deposits and Fees
- Mobile notary appointments require a nonrefundable deposit. It is collected when your booking is confirmed and applied to your total. See the fee schedule for the amount.
- Remote online (RON) sessions require no deposit at this time.
- Loan signing appointments require no deposits, and are subject to the agreed upon terms between the notary signing agent and requesting company.
- Fees are set by the current fee schedule. This website has the most up to date listing of fees, and a printed copy is available during mobile appointments.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
- To change your appointment, I request that you give me at least 4 hours’ notice. I’ll move your deposit to the new time once at no charge.
- Cancellations inside 4 hours, and no-shows, will forfeit the deposit.
- If I have to cancel due to a scheduling conflict, inclement weather, or other issue, your deposit is refunded or appointment will be moved to a time that works for you.
Identification
Every signer needs an acceptable, current ID, unless, for mobile appointments, I personally know you or we have a credible witness (see FAQ). An expired ID can’t be accepted. See the FAQ for the list.
Notarization Discretion
By booking my services, you agree that final notarization is at my discretion. I may decline or stop a notarization if I can’t verify identity, the signer isn’t present or isn’t signing willingly, the document is incomplete, or I have a personal interest in it.
If I travel to you for a mobile notary appointment and the appointment can’t go ahead for one of these reasons, the travel fee and any waiting time may still apply.
If a remote online session (RON) ends because of an issue, a cancellation fee may apply. See the fee schedule for details.
Weather and Safety (Mobile Appointments)
I may reschedule or change an appointment if weather or road conditions make travel unsafe. I’ll let you know as soon as I can. We can move to another time or place, or switch to a remote online session. If I have to cancel due to this, your deposit is refunded or moved to a time that works for you.
Payment
- Payment is due once services are completed, unless we have made other arrangements in advance. Deposits and witness fees are due in advance of our appointment. All non-statutory fees and payment terms are at the discretion of the notary.
- Apostille facilitation fees, along with state and county fees and postage, are due up front, before I submit your documents.
- I accept Cash, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal and credit card. There is no surcharge for any of them. I don’t accept checks.
- Loan signing fees are paid as agreed between the notary signing agent and the requesting company.
- You will receive a detailed invoice/receipt when our appointment has concluded.
Communication
I will communicate to you through your preferred method, which may include:
- Phone
- Texting
For mobile notary appointments, texting and phone are preferable to keep you the most up to date about your appointment.
Privacy
What I collect. Your name, email, and phone number for appointment and booking purposes. For mobile appointments, I also need the address where we are meeting. For every notarization, I record details of your ID in my journal, as the law requires. Payments go through Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or a card reader, and I don’t keep your card details.
What I do with it. I use it to reply, schedule your appointment and do the notarization. I don’t sell it or use it for marketing.
Notary records. Pennsylvania law requires me to keep a journal of every notarization. I keep it as the law requires and share it only when the law allows or requires it. I don’t keep copies of your documents or ID unless the law or the service requires it.
Remote Online Notary Sessions. Remote online notarizations are recorded, audio and video. Under Pennsylvania law (57 Pa.C.S. § 306.1), the recording must capture the performance of the notarial act, including all interactions between the notary public and the remotely located individual. It must be kept for at least 10 years after it is created, or as otherwise required by Department of State regulations.
By joining a remote session, you agree to be recorded. If you’d rather not be recorded, please choose a mobile notary appointment instead. I keep the recording and session records as the law requires and share them only as the law allows or requires.
